How men can live longer lives Part 1

The average life span for a man is 75.2 years while women live on average 80.4 years. There are a number of contributing factors for this and we'll point out a couple in this post and others in future posts.

According to researchers the life span of the typical male is shorter than that of women for several reason; some more obvious then others. One of the more obvious reasons is violence. Violent deaths often impact the very young who would have otherwise lived long, healthy lives. Boys age 15 to 19 are twice as likely as girls in this age group to die from homicide. The majority of homicides are not random crimes perpetrated by strangers, but rather an escalation of domestic and or criminal disputes.  The best way for young men to reduce this statistic is to learn to control their anger and stay calm in tense situations.

Another not so shocking reason means life expectancy is shorter is because we quite frankly just don't take care of ourselves as much as most women do. Men could live longer by simply taking better care of their bodies, exercising more, and eating healthier. Not unlike women, men's health involves exercise, nutrition, stress management, social relationships, regular doctor visits, and emotional balance. Stop to take some time to think which areas need improvement and make a list of changes you could make; then get to work on those changes. Taking care of your health is a gift to yourself and your family.
