Hair Loss, Why Me?

bald-01A.jpgI can certainly sympathize with those who lose their hair, not because I personally suffer from hair loss, but I had a friend who went through it while only in his very early 20's. We used to spend a lot more time getting together in the summers as I lived on Cape Cod which is really a summer play ground for many tourist so being young guys we kind of got together a lot more in the summer months.

I recall not having seem my friend for a number of months and the next time I saw him he was completely bald. What was shocking for me was that before that he had a full head of hair. It's not like he had even a receding hairline last time I saw him. Heck initially I thought he had cancer and was going through treatment and hadn't bothered to tell me!

Male hair loss is genetically passed on through your mother so if your mothers father is or was bald then the mothers sons have a higher chance of being bald as well. [tag-tec]hairloss[/tag-tec] is actually an everyday occurrence for everyone. In fact on average roughly 50 to 150 hairs are lost each day, but most hair re-grows because the hair follicle remains intact. When shedding hair significantly exceeds hair growth is when baldness takes place.

Propecia, Finasteride, [tag-cat Mens Health ]Hair Restoration treatments[/tag-cat] or a good razor are all options. Using prescription drugs like Propecia "can" have side effects though the side effects if any are on a case by case basis so not even a doctor can tell you for sure if you will incur any, but as a prescription medication only your doctor can prescribe it for you if you decide to take that route.

As for my friend ………… well his problem was thinking hair it was a total loss so I guess he could at least bypass the razor option!
